A Construction Certificate (also known as CC) is an official document that serves as a formal building approval. A Construction Certificate certifies that your proposed development complies with the National Construction Code (Building Code of Australia), and Councils conditions of consent. If you have completed the Development Application (DA) process through your Local Council and have received a copy of the approved Development Consent, before any site works, building or use is commenced, the person having the benefit of the development consent must obtain a Construction Certificate.
A Construction Certificate can be issued by a registered certifier. Essentially, a Construction Certificate ensures that the intended construction meets all legal and regulatory requirements, providing a green light for the project to proceed.
